Christmas Eve

Hi All,

Well, contrary to the idea of a vacation being "relaxing", we have managed to go all out over the past week or so. Kim got a new front door installed here at the house - I will never understand the pure, unadulterated joy that she gets from stuff like that. A door is a door as far as I'm concerned...

We have been keeping up with our workouts and have been steadily improving. I signed up for a running challenge on Slowtwitch.com - 100 Runs in 100 Days. It's kinda tough, but I'm pushing along. Kim is working hard on getting her running up to snuff and is making good progress. We had a great spin bike class last Saturday - 2:15 on the bikes!!! We're both feeling strong and should be hitting the roads in the spring ready to rock.

We're heading up to Napanee to see my Grandmother on Christmas - just a quick up and back. We have a birthday party to go to on the 27th (Happy 4th Nolan!!) and then we are travelling down to Lake Placid, NY for a couple of days of rest and relaxation. Well, maybe not complete rest and relaxation - I want to keep my runs up and have been googling to find out where I can get on a rowing machine down there. The Nationals are only 1 1/2 months away and I've got a bit of work to do!!

Anyway, stay chilly. I'm working on a Facebook page to go along with this blog, so stay tuned for that.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

It's Our Anniversary!!

Well, we celebrated our 11th Anniversary today!! Yay!! Had a relatively quiet day. We exchanged gifts - I got some clothes that actually fit and Kim got an iPhone. Went to our regular Saturday cycling class at Cyclelogik - 1:45 on the bike (butt hurts!!) We then decided to go to a movie and saw Invictus. We highly recommend this flick - very good, although I think a lot got chopped out on the cutting room floor - when it comes out on DVD, I bet the Director's Cut will be a lot longer.

Tomorrow is Kim's birthday and we are going to have a nice Birthaversary dinner at one of our favourite restaurants - Trattoria Vittoria here in Ottawa. Will write more tomorrow to tell you how it went.

Only a couple of more days until Kim's on leave and the holiday period actually starts!!!

Running With The Lions!

Hi all,

In an effort to get our running up to snuff, Kim & I have joined the Ottawa Lions Track and Field Club. They have a Masters Program for oldsters like us that meets on Monday and Wednesday nights throughout the winter. The other attendees seen pretty nice and the workouts are pretty social. We'll be running in the Louis Riel Dome, just about 10km from our house. We both had good workouts and are looking forward to improving over the winter. More to follow!!

Spin Biking - 5 Dec 09

Kim and I have signed up for a pretty cool spin class at Cyclelogik here in Ottawa. We are going to be cycling every Saturday between now and the end of Mar 10, getting ready for our respective triathlon seasons. We did some testing last week to determine our heart rate zones, which we put into action this week. Lots of climbing today!!!!

Here are a couple of shots of us at the class:

Lots of fun!!

First Post

Hi everyone,

Curtis here - this is going to be our (Kim & I) blog to keep family and friends current on what we are doing. I just posted our 2010 races to the columns on the right and left of this post - we'll put up our results, too, as we complete the races.

Kim will be posting here as well and we'll be putting up photos as we get them.

Stay tuned!!!!
